Our Story
Peter and Bernadette Seely started Springdale Farm in 1988 to offer to southeast Wisconsin households the chance of purchasing, through the CSA model, organically-grown produce from a local, Wisconsin farm. Today, 27 years later, we continue to market our vegetables primarily through the farm’s CSA’s members, but we also sell some items directly to restaurants, coops, wholesalers, at winter farmers’ markets, and to Trust Local Foods. We are just now in the process of certifying (organic) the farm’s 30 acres of production land, though we have been organic from day 1. In addition to produce, we also raise hogs, and occasionally chickens. Current plans include an on-farm certified kitchen, and a variety of fruit trees to be planted on our hillier land.
